SSES Eligibility Criteria

Please respond to each question by selecting the checkbox if the statement is true. You will only be able to proceed to the application if your student meets the criteria below.


Check all statements that are true:

 Your child was enrolled in Kindergarten through 12th grade during the 2019-2020 school year AND is currently enrolled in Kindergarten through 12th grade during the current 2020-2021 school year.

 Your child is designated to take the STAAR Alt II.

 Your child is deaf/blind.

 Your child has one of the following primary disabilities:

  • Auditory Impairment
  • Autism
  • Intellectual Disability
  • Orthopedic Impairment
  • Other Health Impairment
  • Speech Impairment
  • Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Visual Impairment

 Your child is receiving educational services in one of the settings below:

  • Student is receiving homebound instruction – the teacher comes to the house for one-on-one instruction.
  • Student is attending a Residential Treatment Facility.
  • Student is not attending their home campus but they’re in a Specialized Program for more than 50% of their day.
  • Student is in a Self-Contained Classroom for more than 50% of their day.
  • Student attends Texas School for the Blind.
  • Student attends Texas School for the Deaf.
  • Student receives instruction at a Day Treatment Facility.
  • They are in a resource classroom on their home campus.
  • Student is attending their home campus but receives specialized programming off campus.
